Nutrients

What is Soil Biology?

Soil has always been there, right under our feet. Each handful of healthy soil has, incredibly, more microbes than people living on earth. This thriving underground ecosystem includes soil bacteria and fungi (commonly referred to as soil biology). It’s these microbes that break down organic matter into a state where they can bring nutrients to plants via the roots.

 

Think of our products as a liquid fertiliser, you’re providing nutrition for plants, whilst regenerating the soil, something fertilisers alone can’t do. Whilst fertiliser is important to replenish some nutrients, using soil biology greatly reduces the frequency of application and amount required.

Stimulants & Fertilisers

Stimulants are what we might know as seaweed, blood and bone, compost, etc.  Stimulants come in many forms, however carbon products have long been recognised for contributing to soil fertility and root health.

 

There are many advantages to using stimulants:

  • Increases biological activity in the soil

  • Plant essential root stimulation increases root mass

  • Improves water absorption

  • Improves fertiliser uptake

  • Our product, Carbon Copy solubilises into a liquid mix for ease of application 

  • Improves the physical characteristics of soil.  Soil aeration and reduced soil compaction

  • Increases water retention capacity - efficient response to water stress

Fungi

Soil fungi grows in association with plant roots, forming a symbiotic relationship whereby the fungi supplies the plant with nutrients and water in exchange for carbohydrates from the plant.

 

Our fungi products;

  • ​Produce antimicrobial compounds

  • Solubilise nutrients

  • Contain 2 billion cfu (colony forming units) per gram for our Trichoderma mix (Root of the Matter).

  • Contain 2 million propagules (any material that functions in propagating an organism) for our Endomycorrhizae mix (Good as Gold).

  • Improve germination and transplant survival

  • Improve soil structure and water infiltration

  • Increase oxygen in the root zone
